Global Economic Prospects: Fall 2021
Karen Dynan, Jean Pisani-Ferry, and Martin Chorzempa presented the PIIE's semiannual Global Economic Prospects, with Dynan discussing the US and global outlook, Pisani-Ferry presenting the European outlook, and Chorzempa detailing his analysis of technology regulation in China.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
PIIE nonresident senior fellow Karen Dynan is also professor of the practice jointly at the Kennedy School of Government and the department of economics at Harvard University. Dynan served as assistant secretary for economic policy and chief economist at the US Treasury during 2014–17.
PIIE nonresident senior fellow Jean Pisani-Ferry served as director of programme and ideas for French president Emmanuel Macron's campaign and after the election as chief designer of the French government's investment plan. From 2013 to 2016 Pisani-Ferry was commissioner-general of France Stratégie, the ideas lab of the French government.
PIIE senior fellow Martin Chorzempa, a scholar of the Chinese technology and financial sectors, has conducted research on financial liberalization in Beijing, first as a Luce Scholar at Peking University's China Center for Economic Research and then at the China Finance 40 Forum. He is the author of the forthcoming book The Cashless Revolution: China's Reinvention of Money.
